colonel sanders, masons, and horror movies

so, buckethead is quite the strange duck.

in all my research, ive found that he has a ridiculously horrible back story (horrible for him, not that the story is unlikable). poor bucket. all he wanted was some friends and to be himself.


we went to the masonic lodge downtown, explored, and had a descent time. found some bones. ate some chex mix. got free cookies. good times. it seems their mystery is of their own choosing, and that they arent just whack jobs who have crazy meetings... just a club for well to do older gentlemen, who have a belief in the higher powers of their choosing.

sounds like a good cover story to me...pics to come

next assignment!

i think the next assignment, which is also the one that rounds off our semester is quite large... but we have lots of time, so no worries. we're supposed to illustrate a storybook, about any story we choose. i have chosen "the ballad of buckethead", a song by primus.

its about this crazy virtuoso guitarist who has the weirdest persona, and as far as i know, he never comes out of his buckethead act. atleast not when others are around.

i cant say i like this one.. but the deadline is approaching, and im out of ideas. atleast this one is funny! i seem to have misplaced the final of the third in my series... ill have to find it and get a full color post for you to see how terrible it is : /

ps. i hate watercolors! this one took atleast 5 tries to get him the right color, compared to the fish man. atleast the type fits better in his frame.

im not quite happy with it, but im not unhappy either. this is my first time doing watercolor in quite some time, but i am learning and i think he looks cool.

i think he looks like a splicing of muddy mudsipper and spongebob fish people. and george washington.

hello all,

id like to thank you for visiting my first illustration based blog.

this week, i have for you a sample of an early drawing, which is ultimately for the illustration two project: alice's wonderland.


we had to choose a chapter from lewis carroll's work, i chose chapter 7: the pig and the pepper.

in the chapter, alice stumbles upon two courier/sentry type folks. one is... a frog man, and the other.... a fish man. they are to be dressed in "livery" and powdered wigs. the story goes on more in teh chapter, but the images of these two animal-men intrigued me. i had to create them, as i saw them.

i plan to use watercolors to vivify these guys... real fancy shit, like rembrandt... right... itll probably end up getting tossed out, but thats the plan : /

now to flesh these guys out... until next time
